How Pirots Plays
The original CollectR loop, exactly as we built it before three sequels iterated on the formula.
Red bird
Collects red gems and any feature symbol they connect to.
Purple bird
Same rules, purple gems — the pistol-wielding one of the four.
Green bird
Collects green gems, cutlass drawn the moment there's a match.
Blue bird
Collects blue gems and tends to open up the widest paths once the grid expands.
Each bird only moves onto a gem matching its own color, and it keeps walking as long as there's another matching gem next to it — the same rule every later CollectR game reused. Every symbol it eats fills the meter above the grid; once that meter is full, the game drops in feature symbols instead of plain gems. Bombs are the board's main obstacle: once a bird collects one and there's nothing left to win from that drop, it detonates, clears the symbols around it, forces a redrop, and expands the grid — all the way to the full 8×8 if you keep triggering them. Land a Rum barrel and it either turns a nearby gem cluster into the collecting bird's own color, or converts it straight into feature symbols. Three Bonus anchors collected in one round send you into Free Drops, with the grid size, meter progress and every gem's upgrade level all carrying over instead of resetting.

The cap is 10,000x the bet, so up to €1,000,000 on the €100 maximum stake — the same math the rest of the series has used ever since. There are two realistic routes there: stacking Coin symbols until a Max Win Coin lands and pays the remainder instantly, or riding the Super Bonus, where the grid locks at its largest size and every Upgrade symbol lifts all four gem colors at once instead of just one. As with the rest of the series, normal base-game play rarely gets anywhere close to the cap on its own — the Super Bonus route is the far more direct of the two.
